Boating Rules
Highlights
- No wake from 7:30 PM - 11:00 AM.
- Travel counter-clockwise around the lake.
- Stay at least 100 ft from rafts, docks, and swimmers.
- Swimmers, sailboats, and other non-motorized boats (such as kayaks or canoes) have the right of way.
- Stay at least 100 ft from anchored boats and watch for swimmers near the boat.
- Skiers, wakeboarder, tubers, and surfers must wear life jackets and have a spotter on the boat in addition to the driver.
- People on non-motorized boats are required to wear life jackets.
- Know the state laws on all boating requirements. You can get the latest laws and regulations from the state webpage at michigan.gov/dnr.
