The Annual Big Star Lake Association Fishing Contest is a favorite annual event for our members! 2024 was a banner year with over 90 entries!

The Big Star Lake Association (BSLA) endorses following the Michigan DNR rules and regulations regarding fishing licenses, minimum/maximum daily count, and open season dates for each species. We also encourage catch-and-release practices.

The contest is open to BSLA members and their families.

Participants enter the contest by going to the Big Star Lake website and filling out an entry form that can be found in the Events Calendar.

Fishing Contest Age Levels:

• 0 - 5
• 6 - 11
• 12 - 15
• 16+

Winners will be posted in the BSLA Newsletter.

Trophies are displayed on a table at the annual BSLA meeting on Memorial Day weekend at the Big Star Lake Chapel for winners to pick up. If you are unable to attend the meeting to pick up your trophy please contact Judy Alphenaar (judyalphenaar@gmail.com).
